Hi! I’m Kristy!
I am thankful you have found your way to me, and I can assure you there is a good reason why we have connected. Perhaps you are looking for reasons why you are feeling lost or unfulfilled. Maybe you are wanting to become more confident, learn how to set boundaries or find ways to improve your relationships. Or, possibly you are just looking for something more in your personal, emotional, spiritual or professional life.
I am a life coach helping people to overcome limiting beliefs, burnout and overwhelm and live a life with greater happiness, power, self-love and authenticity.
I, too, lived much of my life in a state of overwhelm, always searching for that magic pill that would leave me satisfied and fulfilled instead of physically and emotionally exhausted and teetering on the edge of burnout. Much as I would prefer not to admit it, I spent almost 40 years of my life striving for perfection and doing all the things I believed others expected of me, all while unconsciously stuffing my own emotions and needs down further and further.
I lost sight of who I was at heart early on in my youth and well into my adulthood. I identified “who” I was with “what” I was doing: I’m a helper, I’m a good student, I’m a step-mom, wife, leader, career counselor, HR consultant, etc. My mantra was, “I can do all the things,” and my claim to fame was that I was a proud workaholic. Despite success, I was constantly plagued with the feeling I was not good enough. Poster girl for “impostor syndrome!” As a result, I expended so much energy trying to be perfect at what I was doing that I neglected myself and my own needs for decades. I ignored all the signs my body and soul were sending me for such a long time that my relationships suffered, and the stress of always “doing” manifested in years of migraines, digestive issues, body pain and emotional disconnection. I lived in flight or fight mode all the time.
I eventually found myself nearing the half century mark, with professional success, but with ill health, many superficial relationships and the feeling that I was missing out on all the things that bring me joy: family, my children and grandchildren, friends, travel, creativity, nature and a deeper connection to my own heart. Tired of being tired, I embarked on a journey with the help of two close friends to rediscover my true purpose.
Very early on in this journey of self-improvement, my friend introduced me to The Adult Chair®, and my journey took off. Each podcast gave me more tools to explore in my pursuit of self-healing and ultimately, finding peace within myself. Using the model and techniques shared in the podcast led me to deep exploration of past traumas that have shaped my behavior for years. Having a better understanding of what has led me to where I am has allowed me to make major changes for the better in my life. These changes started to become so significant that I felt an incredible pull in my heart to become certified as an Adult Chair® Coach, in addition to continuing to do my own personal work.
Through The Adult Chair, I now know the importance of self-care and allowing our emotions to be felt. I have knowledge of how to address and resolve problems through an integrated approach that incorporates the body, mind and spirit to help you find the answers that lie within you. I understand the feeling of being lost and burnt out, with malleable boundaries that can be exploited by others, leaving you feeling voiceless and powerless—but I now know how to do the work to resolve these issues, and I want to help you to do the same.
As a Certified Adult Chair Coach with over 30 years of management and coaching experience, I would be honored to help you find the “more” you are looking for. Together, we can find your own path to peace and fulfillment in your life.
